The first free game chapter is now open Dying Light 2marking the start of Techland’s planned five-year post-launch support.
Titled Footsteps of the Nightcrawler, it features Harper, the Nightcrawler, who uses powerful, never-before-seen gear that can be used against terrifying new infected. As a link to your new adventure, you can find him in the Fisheye Cafeteria.
This chapter comes with patch 1.4.0, which adds a photo mode to the game. It also brings a new level system and unlocks to the game. The new level system increases your reputation points with agents by performing tasks. With enough reputation points, you can level up to unlock high-end weapons, clothing, and consumables.
New daily and weekly bounties will take place, and these nightly events will earn you Prestige Points when completed.
You can look forward to two new currencies that can be used to buy new items. You can collect mutant samples from the corpses of special infected and earn unique Harper Tokens with each new level.
The new enemy is called the Mutant Infested and consists of the Explosive Tyrant and the Explosive Hive.
If you purchase a special Warband mission ticket from a Chapter Agent, you’ll be able to participate in time trials that test your stealth, parkour or combat skills.
With the addition of Photo Mode, you can capture a variety of neat images with changes to aperture, focus, and the ability to make color adjustments such as temperature, exposure, saturation, contrast, and vignetting. You can use filters, and special effects will allow you to create unique sequences, like something from an action movie.
