According to the development studio, the first and only expansion to Elden Ring will offer a whopping 40 hours of gameplay, and as colleague Matthias explains in his preview of Shadow of the Erdtree, that sounds quite plausible. Completionists are already starting to sweat in panic.
Hidetaka Miyazaki, head of From Software, told PC Gamer that he and his team expect players to use guides. According to him, there will be plenty of sources on the Internet where you can find out secrets and learn strategies. However, he stresses that this help is by no means necessary to complete the DLC.
According to him, it is perfectly legitimate to play with guides. Shadow of the Erdtree should be suitable for both die-hard veterans and people who like to be pushed in the right direction.
We will find out for ourselves how great the expansion really is on June 14, 2024. That is when Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will finally be released.
