The World Cup is getting closer and closer. EA Sports therefore takes the opportunity to publish a new concept for FIFA 23. If we don’t have a special World Cup mode this year, we’re still entitled to special cards that you can use to get rewards.
With each issue of World Championship, EA Sports takes the opportunity to offer new features or its own mode for Ultimate Team mode. If the World Cup mode takes place outside of Ultimate Team this year, we will still find special cards in FUT mode that will allow you to play the World Cup at the end to get great rewards depending on the number you have. Today we invite you to discover how they work, the possible rewards, but also a very simple way to get a large number of these cards without having to pay (or almost) a loan.

This is how WM cards work
The operation of these cards is quite simple. In the classics, they have the same stats as the players’ base cards. The only differences are that they are a lovely pink color that picks up the color Qatar World Cup color code and some have one job change resume the positioning of players in their national teams. These cards are too linked to the countries of the playersand no longer to their respective clubs.
Because they have a different format, you can have a standard card and a World Cup card for the same player in your club. The goal of these cards is to collect as many as possible in your club. The more you have, the more great rewards you can get at the end of the world championship. It will therefore not depend on the performance of the players but on the number of cards you will have in your club.
Possible rewards
EA Sports has announced that 15 tiers of rewards will be achievable with WM Cards. However, at the moment we can only see 10 in Ultimate Team. Maybe the next 5 will be unlocked later during the competition. Here are the rewards you can get by leveling up to level 10 at the moment:
- level 1 : a pack of 8 players with a rating between 80 and 86
- level 2 : 2000 credits + a pack for 8 players with a rating between 80 and 84
- level 3 : a Premium Gold Player Pack
- level 4 : 2000 credits + a pack for 5 players with an age rating of 80+
- level 5 : a choice pack for 1 of 4 players with an age rating of 83+
- stage 6 : a pack of 8 players rated over 80
- stage 7 : 5000 credits + a choice pack 1 of 4 players with 83+
- level 8: a package for 11 players 81+
- stage 9 : 3000 credits + a jumbo pack for rare players
- level 10 : a package for 3 players 85+
Note that any rewards you receive in these packs are not for sale. But these packages still give you the opportunity to get very nice rewards.
Get special World Cup tickets easily
Of course, the first method to get WM cards is by opening packs. The normal and special packs that will be released from now on will contain Worlds rewards.
But it’s also currently possible to just get it without paying a penny. All you have to do is Build a team of 11 different nationalities and bench 5 substitutes of 5 different nationalities. Then go to the teamfights, play a match in novice mode and score with every player in your starting XI, even the goalkeeper. When you’re done, make your 5 substitutions and score with those 5 players. This allows you to complete 16 goals in relation to a World Cup nation if you score with all of them. For each of these goals you will receive a package with 6 World Cup players from the respective nation. Repeat this as many times as necessary to complete all groups of World Cup-related objectives.
A little advice: Don’t make the same mistake I did and take players who are in the World Cup… It saves you time and allows you to complete more goals at the same time.
Small tips to get World Cup players quickly:
Form a team with one nationality per position, including goalkeepers and substitutes, limit only offensive players, go to duel, beginner level, score 1 goal per player!
