Most of the announcement was leaked, but whatever: Ghost of Tsushima will be back to tell us about the Japanese adventures of Samura Jin Sakai in a Director’s Cut version full of bonuses, officially revealed today.

In its glory is the game of SuckerPunch therefore reveals the specifics that armed fighters have come to expect from their next-gen console., this without further ado:
- A 4K display and a frame rate that “aims” at 60 fps.
- Haptic feedback via DualSense, and adaptive triggers in the service of our hero arc
- Lip sync with the Japanese version, even if the latter should have been suggested from the start
- A new game mode in Ghost of Tsushima Legends
- The arrival of the 3D audio
- Reduced loading times
But the biggest chunk, obviously, lies in the arrival of Ikishima, a new monkey to explore, discover a new side of history, and kill new enemies in increasingly colorful environments. This should ensure a successful vacation, even if the information about it is still scarce:
In this new story, Jin travels to Iki Island to investigate rumors of a Mongolian presence. He very quickly finds himself in events with deeply personal issues that force him to experience traumatic moments from his past.
Transferring backups between versions is of course guaranteed, but you shouldn’t be mistaken about the price to be paid: Owners of the original can buy the expansion for 19.99 dollars alone or upgrade to the full version on PS5 for 29.99 dollars. If you finally fall for the Director’s Cut Edition on PS4, but migrate to PS5 in the end, you have to pay 9.99 dollars. Is that the simplicity?
