I love that fans can see me in this universe and propose not just a character, possibly Magneto, possibly Mr. Freeze [DC]. And the biggest request is Charles Xavier.” Indeed, the very leader of the X-Men who has been played by Patrick Stewart for more than two decades.
“But look, I want to play a good guy. Charles is smart. He is good. But I feel like Marvel and I can move on a bit. I know I love what they do. I know I love creativity. So who knows what could happen? Keep publishing it out there,” confesses Esposito. The truth is that it would not be the interpreter’s first contact with the UCM.
During the recording of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, Kevin Feige invited Giancarlo to the set to visit him and see first-hand how superhero projects are worked on. “I’m a big fan of all those characters and that world,” Esposito said.
