At 1.91 meters, “Reacher” star Alan Ritchson is the right size as a muscular all-rounder. But in season 3 of the Prime Video series, Jack Reacher has to deal with a real giant.

Although Jack Reacher occasionally teams up with allies, the hero of “Reacher” and Lee Child’s novels is a one-man army – and that’s what he looks like. In the books, Reacher is 1.96 meters tall, “Reacher” main actor Alan Ritchson is at least 1.91 meters tall – no comparison to the former “Jack Reacher” star Tom Cruise with his 1.70 meters.
Ritchson is tall enough to easily tower over the other actors from “Reacher.” But that changes in “Reacher” season 3, when Reacher meets an opponent who is significantly taller, broader, heavier and more dangerous.

Season 3 of “Reacher” is based on the novel “The Janus Man” and in it Reacher meets Paulie, an insane bodyguard and bodybuilder. Even Reacher is intimidated by his gigantic figure, because Paulie is 15 centimeters taller, 25 centimeters wider and 90 kilograms heavier than him.
That sounds impressive, but it’s easier to write than to film. Where should the Amazon series find a suitable actor for Paulie? In Holland! That’s where Olivier Richters, the biggest bodybuilder in the world, lives.
In fact, at 2.18 meters tall, Richters is 27 centimeters taller than Alan Ritchson. Actor Anthony Michael Hall, whose character Paulie works in season 3, described working with Richters in an interview with Cinemablend as follows:
He reminds me of…remember when we were kids? “The Spy Who Loved Me”, the role of Beißer played by Richard Kiel? He was a literal giant, about 7 feet tall. [Paulie und Reacher] have an epic battle. I don’t want to give too much away, but yes, they definitely meet like in the book. You know, there’s something Marvel-esque about Reacher and Paulie’s encounter, right? These are two guys the size of superheroes, so that’s kind of cool.

Even though filming for “Reacher” season 3 is already underway, the series will not return until 2025. Until then, you can pass the time with these Prime Video series tips.
