Original message: Now Hogwarts Legacy has also started in Early Access on the PC. The game should be available for all pre-orders from 7 p.m. However, many players are currently complaining about download problems or that they cannot start the game even after a successful download.
We summarize which tips from the community could help. Note: These methods worked for some players but not for others. We can therefore not guarantee that it will work for you.

What can you do if the download or game does not start?
The problems seem to mainly occur with players who did not purchase their key directly from Steam. But even Steam pre-orders can’t all get started.
If the download or the game does not start for you, try the following steps:
- The most obvious tip: Try logging out of Steam and logging back in. Also try restarting your PC.
- Some players found it helpful to start the game from the desktop shortcut or the .exe file in the installation folder rather than the Steam Start button.
- Another trick that could help when starting: Click on the small icon in your taskbar that shows all the programs running in the background. Here right click on Steam and then on Hogwarts Legacy.
Problem is probably related to third-party providers of keys
There is one on Reddit Conversation between a pre-orderer and the key seller Gamesplanet popped up. In it, Gamesplanet support explains that the problem is known and that they are already in contact with the publisher. So if you have also purchased a key from a third-party provider, you will have to be patient for better or worse before you can start playing.
Mina from the GP team also confirms this on the Gamesplanet page:
