A new LEGO leak reveals one of the Danish company’s next plans. A new collaboration with one of the most famous franchises of all time is in the works.
LEGO clearly has no plans to engage in partnerships with licenses that appeal to everyone. In the coming weeks, the Danish company will (again) deal with Harry, Star Wars or Fortnite and check whether a success can be achieved with a BrickHeadz Wednesday. But this year marks the 50th anniversary of a global success saga, and it’s an opportunity the company couldn’t pass up. A big, expensive set has already been confirmed for the month of April, but surprisingly there are other things in development for the start of the school year.
LEGO has another surprise for 50 years of Dungeons and Dragons
Want a Dungeons and Dragons LEGO set? Yes ? This is good because a construction of the Ideas series has been officially released. A beautiful dynamic set with a dungeon, a tavern, a crypt and the witch’s tower called “Dragon’s Keep: Journey’s End”. The project was validated at the beginning of the year, but will be released next April at a price of $359.99. A set that contains more than 3000 pieces and six minifigures. That’s the big part, but LEGO also thinks about smaller budgets.
According to a leak, LEGO Dungeons and Dragons minifigures will be available on September 1, 2024. And the Danish company doesn’t want to do things by halves as it plans to bring 12 different pieces to market. The price should be identical to the current minifigures: $3.99 each. Here is the list of characters that were leaked in advance:
- Tiefling wizard with his little red dragon
- Golden Dragonborn Paladin and his shield
- The witch Tasha and her cauldron
- An eagle of the Aarakocra Ranger breed with his dog
- The mind flayer and his intellect eater
- A bearded dwarven woman accompanied by her axe
- The vampire, master necromancer and war veteran Strahd von Zarovich with his sword
- Githyanki war wizard equipped with his blade
- A halfling druid and his bird
- A second halfling druid with a lute
- The Lady of Sorrows and her dice
- The cruel Lich Szass Tam with a skull
Unlike the larger Dragon’s Keep: Journey’s End set, there are no visual representations of the LEGO Dungeons and Dragons minifigures yet. But beware. The image below is from the Ideas project before its validation. When it launches in a few weeks, the build may not be completely identical, but it gives a good impression of the final product.
