In a video, the Youtuber TheGamingRevolution presents new details that he used for the Battle Royale mode Warzone from the game files of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
So some of you are hiding in it surprising game mechanicsthat go far beyond Battle Royale.
Who's the source?
TheGamingRevolution is notorious for its leaks on CoD MW. Many of his predictions from the past were accurate – if not all. He is considered the first Youtuber to publish real game scenes from the Battle Royale mode and pictures of the Warzone map. Nevertheless, you should always enjoy his information with a healthy dose of skepticism.
What was found
When browsing the game files in Warzone mode, TheGamingRevolution said that it encountered specific information about new game mechanics. We list his theories here, what it could be about.
Junk system: In Warzone there is said to be a resource called "Plunder", which means booty or stolen goods in German. This form of loot is said to play a central role.
Missions: According to TheGamingRevolution, you get junk through various activities such as quests, challenges, or defeating opponents. One should even be able to bet on 1vs1 arena fights.
Shops: The captured currency is said to either be used to buy new equipment in stores or to be able to deposit it in banks or ATMs in the game world to earn XP. There are said to be more than 15 such locations on the (already leaked) Warzone map.
How does that fit with Battle Royale? Not at all!
At first glance, junk, missions and shops don't seem to fit into a BR concept. In fact, TheGamingRevolution discovered a reference to the »Blood Money« game mode and suspects a kind of alternative playlist that takes place on the Warzone map.
What do we know about blood money?
So far there is no reliable information available, but TheGamingRevolution already has guesses:
- It is obviously a separate Warzone mode
- Blood Money appears to be independent of Battle Royale
- The Danish system is said to play a major role here
- Heists and raids could appear here, as mentioned above
- The name can also be read as a reference to bank robberies
It has long been discussed whether Warzone mode appears as a Free2Play coupling from CoD: Modern Warfare. It is not known whether Blood Money will be included in this package or only available to buyers. TheGamingRevolution video is just the latest in a long line of leaks and rumors surrounding CoD Warzone.
A level system for multiplayer & battle royale?
Recently there were hints that Warzone's release is planned for Season 2. So far, fans had assumed Season 3. For TheGamingRevolution, one thing clearly speaks against a launch in the middle of Season 2:
If Warzone and the regular MW multiplayer share the progression system, many players would already be at the maximum level of 155 and would therefore have no incentive to continue playing upwards. A start to the season change would make more sense if all players were reset to level 55.
