The Great MCU-Series “Loki“ended with a bang. We explain the confusing finale of season 1 to you in a separate article: “Loki” finals: We explain the end and the meaning for Marvel Phase 4!

But the credits of episode 6 held for everyone Marvel– and “Loki” fans also have a huge and pleasant surprise ready: “Loki” will have a 2nd season and goes up Disney+ further. But when will it appear and what will it be about?

“Loki” on Disney +: Season 2 will come out then

Filming for the premiere of “Loki” began in January 2020, was interrupted due to Corona, continued in September and ended in December. Then it took another 6 months for “Loki” to appear on Disney +.

Based on this timeframe, the second season of “Loki” could start as early as the summer of 2022. However, the website reports CBR from a shooting start for “Loki” Season 2 in January 2022. Then Tom Hiddleston’s new adventures as a rascal god would hit Disney + around January 2023.

“Loki” season 2 joins phase 4 of the MCU

That would also fit perfectly into the Marvel timeline for Phase 4 of the MCU. The MCU blockbusters “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (December 2021) and “Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness” (March 2022) and then “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania “(February 2023).

All of these films are likely to be about the one introduced into the MCU in “Loki” Multiversum go, whereby Kang the Conqueror / The One Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), the big villain who appeared for the first time in “Loki” and new Thanos from phase 4, has already been officially confirmed for the 3rd “Ant-Man”.

It can be assumed, however, that Kang will either appear in person in other Phase 4 films or pull the strings in the background. Especially in “Doctor Strange 2” an appearance seems very likely.

Either way, the second season of “Loki” could lead directly to “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania” if it comes out on Disney + a few weeks before this MCU film.

The extremely reliable industry magazine also reports The Hollywood Reporterthat Loki will also appear in “Doctor Strange 2”. Of course, this could also be an ending scene.

“Loki” Season 2: That’s what it’s about

From the previous statements it can be seen that action prognoses for the 2nd “Loki” season are currently not so easy. The multiverse plot in “Spider-Man 3”, “Doctor Strange 2” and possibly “Ant-Man 3” (if season 2 of “Loki” should appear afterwards) will most likely develop and change too much.

But still some conclusions can be drawn the storyline of “Loki” Season 2 pull!

The story of Loki and the Loki variant Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) does not seem to be over yet. In the finale, the two kissed and in the course of season 1 seemed like Soul mate.

In the 2nd edition, Loki will now have to struggle with the pain that Sylvie caused in him when she rushed him through the portal back into the TVA and effectively broke up with him. Sylvie and Loki will surely meet again in season 2.

What kind of doctor is Doctor Strange?

Owen Wilson’s Mobius and Wunmi Mosaku’s Hunter B-15 will also return in season 2 of “Loki”. They showed the last moments of the “Loki” final – albeit on a retrospectively changed timeline or on a different timeline.

Mobius couldn’t remember Loki, which is all the more tragic since the two have developed into real friends over the course of 6 episodes of “Loki” so far. “Loki” Season 2 will therefore also be about Loki helping Mobius to recall past events.

TVA mascot Miss Minutes should also return in “Loki” Season 2, because it was finally revealed in the show’s finale on Disney + that Miss Minutes was the most important person in the TVA after Kang and knew all along what was going on goes.

Furthermore, Gugu Mbatha-Raws Ravonna Renslayer and Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror will most likely be back in season 2 of “Loki”. But Ravonna actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw already indicated that her story will continue outside of “Loki” in the MCU.

In the Marvel master comics, Kang and Ravonna have a tumultuous on-off relationship. So the story of the two will most likely be resumed before “Loki” Season 2 and will be retold in upcoming Marvel movies.

That doesn’t rule out a return to “Loki” season 2 though.

However, viewers of the MCU series “Loki” know after the premiere edition that in the show on Disney + in principle anything is possible.

For this reason, much crazier storylines for the second season of “Loki” appear absolutely within the realm of the possible. For example, the newly introduced Loki variant Sylvie could become the main character – or a completely new variant of the rascal god appears, which is then still played by Tom Hiddleston.

And all these presumptions of action must – as mentioned at the beginning – be marked with an asterisk anyway. Too much will most likely happen in the aforementioned Phase 4 movies before “Loki” Season 2 comes out.
