Last year’s reboot of Lords of the Fallen is about to get a sequel, and its publisher CI Games has signed a deal with Epic.
According to the Polish website Bankier, a recent document submitted by CI Games confirms that Lords of the Fallen will have a sequel in 2026. It is worth noting that the document specifically mentions that CI Games and Epic Games have signed an agreement to guarantee the latter exclusive rights to the sequel to Lords of the Fallen on PC. Many PC players flatly refuse to buy games on the Epic Games Store, so when the sequel is finally launched, we can only wait and see how CI Games will respond.

It is worth noting that the game’s “publishing and distribution rights for all other platforms worldwide, including the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms currently in development, remain with the company.” This apparently confirms that the game will also be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, which is not surprising since the reboot will also be released on the same platforms.
Lords of the Fallen was released last October as a reboot of the 2014 game of the same name. The game received generally positive reviews, but the critical reception was less than astonishing. Our Sherif gave the game 3/5 stars, saying, “Lords of the Fallen is a mixed bag of quality. At its best, it delivers level design, bosses, and combat that are often among the best Souls-like games. At its worst—and more often than not—it relies heavily on quantity over quality and fundamentally misunderstands what makes these games so challenging.”
However, it sold over a million copies in its first 10 days, and it’s clearly sold enough to warrant a sequel, as evidenced by the recent filing. Now you can only hope Hexworks can improve on the sequel.
