Spider-Man is slowly coming back to life – on the one hand with the remastered version of the first game, on the other hand with the preparations for Spider-Man 2.
The good news: Numero Uno: Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is finally coming to market as a standalone version. Previously, the remaster was only available as part of the Ultimate Edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Now it’s finally coming to the PlayStation Store as a digital version for the PS5.
Those who already own the game as a Digital Deluxe or Game of the Year Edition on PS4 can upgrade to the PS5 remaster for a price. The full version is priced at $49.99, and $10 for the upgrade (we don’t have the euro prices yet). The upgrade and stand-alone version should be available later this month – we’ll keep you posted. The upgrade from Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales to the Ultimate Edition will remain available.
Apparently, Sony and Insomniac want to boost the anticipation of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is expected to be released for PS5 in autumn 2023. But the studios have come up with something more, because in cooperation with Marvel a prequel comic is to be published for the new game.
On the one hand, the comic is supposed to be about what Peter Parker, MJ and Miles Morales have been up to since the first two games and how they cope with their daily lives. Second, the trio faces off against a villain named The Hood, whose abilities are based on magic.
Marvel’s Spider-Man author Christo Gage and illustrator Ig Guara are collaborating on the comic, which will be available May 6 in select comic book stores and digitally through Marvel Unlimited and Marvel.com. The comic will be available worldwide in digital format via the Marvel Unlimited app at a later date.
