Murderous aliens that make a hostile moon a hundred times more dangerous, scenes that could have come from a horror film – and we are right in the middle. Sounds like Dead Space, but it’s also the perfect description for The Callisto Protocol, a new sci-fi shooter coming to PC and consoles in 2022.
In the state-of-play edition on June 2, 2022 from publisher Sony, there was not only a creepy teaser trailer to admire, including the first fight scenes, but also a release date. We have all the information for you, here is the new video (recorded on a PS5):

Callisto Protocol: The horror shooter shows its worst side in the trailer
This game will obviously not be for the faint of heart! Even the short trailer demonstrates how brutally aliens and killer robots tear us apart when we give them the opportunity. The shown shooter interludes from a third-person perspective are short, but give an idea that our weapon is by no means a guarantee of survival.
The parallels to Dead Space are clear, which is hardly surprising: Behind the project is its co-inventor Glen Schofield, with his new development studio Striking Distance.
Release planned for 2022
When will The Callisto Protocol appear? The release is planned for December 2, 2022. Something contemplative for the Christmas holidays.
What platforms is The Callisto Protocol released for? You can play the horror shooter on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S or Xbox One.
What is already known about the gameplay? Shooting and melee combat should alternate fluently in Callisto Protocol. You should also have to rely on your hearing to avoid dangerous enemies in tricky places. In general, the developers want you to never feel safe and always be aware of how helpless your character is in the face of monstrous superiority. So real survival horror instead of shooting action.
