New traffic sign for Germany: That means number 230

In France there has been a new traffic sign since the turn of the year: the diamond, which holidaymakers should definitely know. Although there are already symbols to mark loading zones, according to the federal government, these are not uniform and therefore have not proven effective. “Clearly marked, separate parking areas for loading and unloading are intended to help and curb stopping and parking in the second row,” says one Press release.

However, the introduction of the traffic sign is currently on hold. Because the Federal Council refused to approve the amendment to the road traffic regulations in November 2023. The reason for this was not the new traffic sign, but rather other discrepancies. So it’s quite possible that we’ll see the loading zone sign on the side of the road this year.
