ninja team Revealed that another game is coming game console 5 As a game console exclusive for a few years – “huge RPG”, Rise of the Ronin.
You can check out the first trailer for the game embedded below.
“It’s darkest before dawn,” reads the game’s slogan. “In Ronin Rising, you’ll explore an evolving world and fight to forge a new era for Japan.
“You’re a ronin, a warrior free from all masters and shackles, and engage in an immersive combat-focused action experience as your destiny becomes intertwined with the characters of the story.”
According to a post on the PlayStation Blog, Ronin Rising is a combat-centric open-world action-RPG that takes place in a time of dramatic change in Japan. This is the end of the 300-year Edo period (commonly known as “the end of the shogunate”).
Set in the late 19th century, Japan is facing its darkest era, battling an oppressive ruler and deadly disease, and as the civil war between the Tokugawa shogunate and anti-shogunate factions continues to rage, the West. influence permeates it.
“By leveraging all the skills and knowledge we’ve acquired over the years, we really wanted to take things to a new level by trying to thoroughly paint the most pivotal revolution in Japanese history, including the darkest and ugliest chapters that many would shy away from. The level comes from,” said Fumhiko Yasuda, director and president of Team Ninja.
“This is undoubtedly Team Ninja Studio’s most ambitious and challenging project to date. However, we will let our experience in creating samurai and ninja action games guide us on this journey.”
Given that other Team Ninja games have set their sights on Souls-like games (level-based, not open-world), is there any reason to think this game takes more inspiration from the likes of Elden Ring? We didn’t see much from the trailer, but we expect more information to be revealed soon.
Meanwhile, we have Wolong: Fallen Reigns – another RPG from Team Ninja and the spiritual successor to Nioh – to look forward to. We’ll get a demo of the game in the near future.
Given that Wolong sounds like it’s planning to improve upon the good foundation Nioh has already laid (we’re particularly concerned with adding a simple mechanic: a jump button), Ronin Rise makes sense – since Wolong came out a year later – The foundation has been improved to a higher level.
Ronin Rising is set to release as a PS5 console exclusive in 2024 (read: it’s coming to PC too).
