Blizzard Entertainment continues to move prominent chairs, because now the Vice President of Overwatch 2 takes his hat. So far there is no successor for him.
Jon Spector is considered a big and influential number at Blizzard Entertainment, after all he is Commercial Leader and Vice President of the successful online action game Overwatch 2. This fact is now a thing of the past, because Spector is now leaving Blizzard and consequently also takes on this position his hat.
He worked for Blizzard for six years before announcing last week that he was resigning from the studio. “After six exciting years, I have decided to hang up my sword and leave Blizzard Entertainment at the end of March,” Spector said on his personal Twitter account.
“Working on Overwatch has been the highlight of my career – Team 4 brings immense talent and passion to the work every day,” continued the departing employee.
He then thanked everyone at Blizzard and the entire Overwatch community. In this regard, he also assures that Overwatch 2 is in good hands without him. Aaron Keller will remain as game director and Jared Neuss as executive producer. “There are still so many exciting things to come in Overwatch that I can’t wait to see as a player. I’ve worked closely with the rest of the executive staff on this transition and I know the franchise is in great hands.”
The developer studio has not yet announced who will follow Spector from April. Most recently, the last annual report made it clear that Overwatch 2 is currently running extremely well and has recently had the highest number of players in a quarter.
