This year, due to the corona virus, we will have to make do with few or no game events. With the Paris Games Week, an event has now been called off that is actually still a long way off.
No E3 in June, no gamescom in August – and now no Paris Games Week in October. Far in advance, the organizers of the recently growing French game event have announced that this will not take place in 2020 due to the corona virus. It is the first time in the past ten years that the event cannot be held.
The Paris Games Week was supposed to take place from October 23 to 27, 2020 and celebrate its 10th anniversary. But now the difficult decision had to be made to call off this anniversary, according to a statement by the makers. The current situation and the necessary anticipation of the technical and logistical complexity for the organization ultimately did not allow any other result.
At the same time, one is already looking ahead to the coming year, because the Paris Games Week is to return in 2021. Will Sony have a big PS5 appearance again? After all, the company was last seen as one of the most prominent representatives at Paris Games Week. Most recently, there were also new game impressions of the two hope bearers The Last of Us: Part II and Ghost of Tsushima.
