It wasn’t really a surprise, but the Capcom Summer Game Fest conference was an opportunity to learn more about the much-anticipated Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Resident Evil 4 Remake finally shows itself before our amazed eyes. Apart from the obvious visual remake, as expected, this new version of Capcom’s title offers a rewritten story and new mechanics to better meet expectations for a game in 2023.
New with old for Resident Evil 4 Remake
Edvin Edso, producer of Capcom, also stated at the beginning of June:
This time we are developing the game with the aim of offering an exceptional level of quality, in line with what we can expect from a survival horror set in 2023, while preserving the essence of the original game.
For the record, the game sees Léon Kennedy tasked with rescuing Ashley Graham, the daughter of the President of the United States of America, who is being held in a remote village in Europe. The game was very well received at the time of its release in 2005, although the side was a bit more snappy than the average of the other episodes.
A nice work of graphic redesign
As you can see in the video above, an excellent job has been done on the various visual effects, both on the faces (especially Leon’s) and on the various volumetric effects (light, fog in the forest, etc.). As with previous remakes, we feel that Capcom didn’t laugh at the world.
In short, Resident Evil 4 Remake will be available on March 24th, 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S as well as on our PCs (via Steam).
