PlatinumGames' large-scale scalebound was once an epic beacon of hope for PC and Xbox One, but the project was discontinued somewhat unexpectedly. However, the developers would still like to finish this.

Over three years ago, Microsoft surprisingly abandoned the discontinuation of the promising scalebound from PlatinumGames. Surprising because the first game impressions were very promising and the project promised to become an epic action epic exclusively for Xbox One.
Now PlatinumGames (again surprising) brings The Wonderful 101 back; thanks to Kickstarter financing, the classic should now appear on the Switch, PS4 and PC. And that now also brings up questions about Scalebound. Does this game have a future?
In any case, Atsushi Inaba from Platinum admits that there would be a corresponding interest: "It is a game that we once fell in love with and that we still love. If the opportunity arises, it is something we would like to do again would take up. "
However, there is just one catch: the IP actually belongs to Microsoft and so PlatinumGames, even if there is interest, cannot simply resume work. "It's a 100 percent Microsoft brand. Whatever happens to it, we can't really do anything with it unless Microsoft lets us."
The ball is now finally in the Microsoft field, but it is doubtful that this side will give its consent to continue the work. After all, the Redmond company stopped the project over three years ago for a reason.
