It seems that Helldivers 2 can now see the light at the end of the tunnel of bad decisions. It has been a hectic, demotivating summer that has cost the lives of many helldivers. Arrowhead Game Studio has finally reacted and now we see the first changes to its promise to return glory to the video game.
Johan Pilestedt, director de Helldivers 2, shared a statement on Discord to reflect on all the changes that have been made and that have not gone down well with the community. He admits that taking away our firepower also means taking away our fun. Also, that the description of the weapons no longer corresponded to their effectiveness in battle.
We realized that the reason many of you found some tools, such as the Flamethrower, Railgun, Eruptor, etc., interesting was that they could deal with heavily armored enemies much more effectively than the weapon descriptions suggested.
The first weapons to regain the power they deserve will be the Flamethrower and the Railgun, two support stratagems much loved by the community. And the improvement is no small thing! The flamethrower will see its power increased by 33% and fire damage reverted to what it was before Freedom Escalation, it will once again deal terrible damage to Chargers, Titans, Impalers and other armored enemies.
Hold on because it’s coming now la Railgun: Standard damage when charging is increased from 60 to 225, and damage from overcharging the weapon (which is very dangerous) is increased from 150% to 225%. In other words: if you aim for enemies’ weak points, they should be blown away in one or two shots at most. The changes have been very well received and will arrive on September 17 as part of the first weapon rebalance.

At iGamesNews | I’ve seen that the Automaton front of Helldivers 2 has become a problem: “nobody wants to touch our worlds”, and it’s for a good reason
