what do we know The Elder Scrolls 6 to date? Well, it’s a “medium-sized game,” according to Microsoft. It will definitely be released after the stars. Bethesda director Todd Howard recently said that the massive role-playing game is still in the design phase, the earliest stages of development.
So there is still some way to go. I think we can all agree on that. While most of the internet — and presumably all of Sony’s employees — are thinking about the release date of Microsoft’s hidden weapon, one person does know when it’ll hit virtual store shelves. That man is the aforementioned Todd Howard.
“I have a vague idea [about the Elder Scrolls 6 release date]’, Howard told Youtuber Lex Fridman in an interview (see below). “I hope it comes soon.we want [the game] Out. I wish they didn’t take as long as they did, but they did. If I could go back in time, I would never have planned for it to take this long. ”
Interesting; it makes us wonder if the company has changed its process with Starfield – which is why the studio is taking longer than past efforts to develop and reveal these titles. After all, when Howard envisions the game lasting 10 years, you can see why he wants Bethesda to be careful with it.
“Everyone does [love Elder Scrolls], it’s a part of who we are,” Howard continued in the video. “When you don’t do it for a while, you really miss it. I was in a meeting yesterday and I was like “I just want to play all of this right now.” But we’re going to make sure we’re doing the right thing for everybody. ”
Moving on, Howard reiterated that the team involved with the game knew and understood that players would be glued to it for years – decades – and that the developers were so careful with it that it would linger in the industry for a long time to come.
The video above begins with a tease; Friedman makes Howard blink his eyes when he knows when the game is going to start — 2 hours and 45 minutes (!) from that game. If you care about Bethesda and the industry, it’s a good watch…if you have some spare time.
If you want to make your wait for The Elder Scrolls 6 easier, why not play Daggerfall again. Or better yet, try something a little more esoteric and un-Bethesda and get your teeth into 2003 role-playing game, Arx Fatalis.
