Even today, many gaming fans in the West still know Capcom, but far fewer know SNK. Both Japanese studios really pushed the fighting game genre forward, especially in the 90s. Of course, Street Fighter reigns supreme on Capcom’s side, but SNK has series like Fatal Fury and King of Fighters. There have also been several collaborations between the two fighting pros, in which characters from completely different fighting games were let loose on each other. SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos from 2003 is also one of these collaboration classics and is based on King of Fighters. However, you can also compete with Street Fighter characters like Chun-Li, Ken or M. Bison. Plus a few characters from various other Capcom brands like Zero from Mega Man. At EVO 2024, a remaster of the arcade and console classic was surprisingly unveiled and released straight away. The new edition is playable on Steam, Gog, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
