A few weeks ago, Sony announced a new feature that aims to use your gaming talent to assist others in their gaming sessions. At least indirectly.
This function was not available at the time, but now it is available.
Why is that important? From now on there is a new function in the Control Center of your Playstation 5 – i.e. in the area that you reach when you press the Playstation button in the game.
- It is called Community Game Help and is intended, for example, to provide tips on how to achieve achievements.
- This is made possible by small video clips from the community.
- In order to send clips that help other players, you must first make a setting (see below)
- The feature is also available in the PlayStation app. This way you don’t have to stop playing.
Im Detail: Like Sony in theirs Blog entry about the new function announced, the new feature is now available to all of you if you have installed the latest system update.
You can find the help clips by opening the Control Center and then pressing one of the so-called action cards, on which a “hint icon” is displayed.
But it’s not just the community that should contribute help videos, but also developers. However, they were able to create help clips beforehand and insert them into the Control Center. From now on, a mix of tips from developers and community members will be displayed.
How do I take part? According to Sony, the clips are recorded automatically when you have mastered a difficult passage in video games. These can be bosses, puzzles or achievements, among other things.
However, you have to activate the function first. This prevents your gameplay from being recorded and published without your consent.
This is how you register:
[Einstellungen] > [Aufnahmen & Übertragungen] > [Aufnahmen] > [Automatische Aufnahmen] > [Community Game Help] > Check the box [Teilnehmen].
If you participate, you can limit the number of clips uploaded per month.
