Three years after Below Zero, the highly anticipated Subnautica 2 is finally revealed, with a very nice surprise well hidden in the depths as a bonus!
Real hits especially on Steam, Subnautica in the first place and Below Zero had left their mark by adapting survival gameplay on the seabed with a fascinating story. Three years after the last expedition, Unknown Worlds Entertainment finally announces Subnautica 2, taking the opportunity to incorporate an element much desired by players.
Subnautica 2 finally emerges from the depths of the sea, and it’s not alone!
In recent years, games with survival/base-making mechanics have followed each other and become similar. However, Unknown Worlds Entertainment’s license took the risky gamble of letting us live the experience underwater, and it totally paid off. The first work is still an extremely popular title among gamers, and Below Zero was also excellent. After three years of waiting, Subnautica 2 finally breaks the surface of the water and reveals the end of her diving suit.
While the Xbox Partner Preview only showed us a short teaser and some gameplay, there is one element in Subnautica 2 that is particularly worth keeping in mind: the presence of a cooperative mode! The only solo license so far is emancipated and we can explore the seabed and scare each other with friends. You don’t have to wait long to start an expedition.
The teaser below announces the start of Early Access in 2025 as part of the Xbox Preview program. So a priori this means that this Early Access will initially be available on PC and Xbox Series. When Subnautica 2 releases in 1.0, it will definitely be available on Game Pass on the same day.
