Attention sci-fi fans: as part of a presentation at the Future Games Show, there were finally first indications of when the game implementation of the successful Amazon series could start.
After the smash hit of The Expanse on Amazon Prime, where the big-budget sci-fi series was able to garner quite a following, we’re eagerly awaiting The Expanse: A Telltale Series. The game from Telltale Games is of course based on the series, but is mainly dedicated to the character of Camina Drummer and her ship, the Artemis.
As part of the Future Games Show, the game was represented with a developer presentation, in which it was again confirmed that the interaction with the crew and other characters should be in the foreground, but that space travel and weightlessness also play a role. As usual with Telltale players, decisions and consequences should also be an important aspect.
But it was even more interesting that a possible release period was also limited as part of the presentation. The first episode of The Expanse: A Telltale Series is scheduled to launch later this summer on PC via the Epic Games Store, Xbox One, Xboe Series X/S, PS4 and PS5. This actually corresponds to the period announced in August 2022, so there does not appear to be any further postponements.
That’s pretty good news, especially considering that Telltale Games went bust a few years ago and only survives thanks to an acquisition. Apparently, thanks to fresh funding, the development of The Expanse and The Wolf Among Us 2 seems to be going pretty smoothly.
