There’s good news for fans of the second season of HBO’s The Last of Us, which has just been released with a new trailer and a 2025 release window. No exact date, month or season was attached. However, the trailer gives us a little more insight into what’s to come in season 2, and from what we’ve seen, it looks like everyone will super happy About life in the post-apocalypse.
The trailer is full of little moments worth watching every second of, but a few select highlights include Joel teaching Ellie how to play guitar, Abby inspecting a very sad-looking grave, and a swarm of infected bugs charging into the snow Ground… in a building. How are these things connected? Who can say for sure, but we are absolutely 100% sure that everything will be fine.

This season is destined to be a major milestone in HBO’s 2025 calendar. Not only was the first season an award-winning one, but we know a third season and beyond is also possible. While it does kind of suck that we don’t know exactly when Season 2 will air, we’ll definitely be hearing about it in the coming months as the pre-release hype cycle continues through the holidays.

All sarcasm aside, and without the spoilers already heavily hinted at in the trailer released today, it’s a safe bet that season two will have a lot of the same drama, action, and emotional heartbreak as season one. Personally, I’m curious to see if and where the game and show’s narratives diverge. What extra scenes we could get, what extra exposition…I’d love to know more!
