Yes, you read that in the title. Although it didn’t make an appearance at this year’s Ubisoft Forward, Ubisoft has given three gamers who still held out hope for Beyond Good and Evil 2 a pretty sizable surprise with the remaster of the original Beyond Good and Evil, which is set to be released next week.
If you haven’t been paying attention (and we don’t blame you), the sequel to 2003’s Beyond Good and Evil was announced back in 2008 and has been travel Since then, it officially celebrated in October 2022 as the most delayed AAA game of all time.

But wait, because as part of the release of the 20th Anniversary Edition of Beyond Good and Evil, the publisher has announced that it includes a new treasure hunt designed to help you “learn more about Jade’s childhood and her connection to Beyond Good and Evil 2.” No, you’re not dreaming.
If that wasn’t enough to make it clear that this long-in-development sequel is, in fact, still a video game, Ubisoft reiterated in a press release about the reveal (thanks, IGN) that the quest “revealed more about the narrative connection to Beyond Good and Evil 2, demonstrating Ubisoft’s enduring commitment to the series.”
Given its extremely bumpy and sometimes weird development schedule, who knows what Beyond Good and Evil 2 will actually be like, assuming it does come out before the universe implodes, as Ubisoft suggests here. We’ve seen and heard a lot about it over the years, a lot of which have been interpreted differently, so it’s unclear how much of this stuff will actually make it into the final game, or if we’ll get something completely different.
