Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP has finally been revealed and it’s a cold shower. A disappointment for the players when the game hasn’t been released, it hurts.
The big return of Lollipop Chainsaw has been eagerly awaited by fans since its announcement and should not be long in coming. The game is expected on September 25th on PS5, Xbox Series, but also on PC et switch and finally presented itself via video. If fans of this crazy game had high expectations, it was because we sold them a dream. But there it is a cold shower, ice cold even.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is displayed…
A few months before its release, which we now call Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP was revealed with a first gameplay trailer and it hurts.
Essentially, the game was released in 2012. Under the direction of the Grasshopper studio and the crazy Suda51, assisted by director James Gunn (Protector of the Galaxy), the game offers an exciting and hilarious adventure. We play Juliet, an extremely sexy and sexualized cheerleader who also happens to be part of a family of zombie killers. When the big zombie lords decide to invade her city, she arms herself with her chainsaw and sets out to clean up.
What hit the mark at the time was not only the sassy heroine, but also the atmospheric fun that the game exuded everywhere and at all times. More cinematic and comic-like, Lollipop Chainsaw is a minor success with gamers. Certainly enough for some of the original creators to announce the arrival of a remake. A remake that will ultimately be a remaster.
…and it is already a big disappointment for the fans
Even then, the game was not a technical gem in terms of graphics or animation, but the gameplay trailer tells us that nothing has changed. It is clearer, yes, but we can already see that the modeling is outdated and the textures are not at all up to standard.
An ice bath that players have taken to the face and are already starting to criticize. If the nostalgia and the guilty pleasure of finding this very atypical game are there, the reality is that it really hurts just watching the video. So, controller in hand, we’re already sweating… let’s see! Let’s not sell the pom-poms before we’ve tried the game! See you in September to find out for sure.
