Even if Soulframe is supposed to have a more down-to-earth setting, there are all sorts of exotic environments to explore.
A few minutes are enough to miss the first gameplay scenes from the Warframe successor, Soulframe. Because without much notice, let alone separate video material as a release, developer Digital Extremes has moving material from the Open-World Fantasy-MMORPG shown – and then even played live.

Soulframe vs. Warframe
In what is shown, a warrior armed with sword and magic roams through what at first glance appears to be a medieval European world. Combat is far more sluggish than in Warframe. A comparison to the Souls title certainly makes sense. It should also share one characteristic with Elden Ring: exploration should be a central aspect of the gameplay.
Ultimately, the question of whether Soulframe is a successor or a spin-off can be splendidly discussed. The differences are drastic: Starting with the game speed, the graphic style and the arsenal of weapons.
The inspiration: For the game world served films from Studio Ghibli such as Prinzessin Mononoke
and the fantasy classic The never ending Story
as a template, like the developers told at the Reveal last year.

Release? Unfortunately, we cannot provide a release date at this point. TennoCon 2023, which takes place on August 26th, will feature Soulframe news and more gameplay. The developers have already announced this in the stream. In addition, of course, the 10th anniversary of Warframe should be duly celebrated with the community. What will become of Warframe? You don’t have to worry about the hit from Digital Extremes. Warframe will continue to be provided with free updates and expansions. This was confirmed at the time when Soulframe was revealed.
