Silent Hill 2 Remake: New trailer reveals release date and shows some gameplay
Konami is apparently emulating Capcom and its extremely successful remakes of Resident Evil: The new production Silent Hill 2, developed by Bloober Team (Layers of Fear, Blair Witch), will be released on October 8th. Since the advertising machine is slowly getting going, we can already see the first moving images.
Silent Hill 2 is graphically set in the present, that much seems clear. We follow the main character James in search of his wife in the remote town of Silent Hill – even though she is actually dead. But a letter seems to prove the opposite. Can Maria, a strangely familiar stranger, help him?
Meanwhile, the industry crisis is also reaching Japan and with it publishers like Konami, Capcom and Sega. We go into this in more detail in the GameStar podcast on the Japan crisis.
Platz 2: Longlegs

Longlegs: Are you afraid of spiders? Then this new horror film might not be for you
The first season of True Detective in particular is still celebrated by fans today for its hardboiled motif, reduced style and pitch-black atmosphere. Longlegs Now a horror film is being released that is, in places, pleasantly reminiscent of that very series.
In the trailer for Longlegs you can see for yourself how an FBI agent pursues a killer. The film by director Oz Perkins (Gretel & Hansel) will celebrate its cinema premiere in Europey on August 29, 2024.
Author Michael Sonntag explains what makes True Detective so fascinating.
1st place: Pizza Bandit

In this Korean co-op shooter you are a pizza delivery man and a contract killer at the same time
A gangster with a love of pizza fulfills his dream and opens his own pizzeria. Unfortunately, the food stall does so poorly that he has to stay underground to avoid going bankrupt. That is the premise of the co-op shooter Pizza Bandit.
What’s the matter? You take on a series of missions alone or with up to three other players, shooting loads of robots into scrap metal, chasing bounties and delivering the odd pizza along the way. The developers describe the gameplay of Pizza Bandit as similar to Gears (although without a cover system). The pizzeria in question serves as the base of operations.
Are you looking forward to some variety in the shooter genre? Can you hardly wait for the Silent Hill 2 remake? Or do you urgently need the True Detective kick? Feel free to write it in the comments and discuss with other readers.
