Two new games for this famous license?
Since they started putting everything on their famous Game Pass, Microsoft has clearly decided to change its strategy and focus on buying as many studios and licenses as possible. Rather than focusing on premium exclusives, as Sony might do, for example, the Richmond-based company hopes to attract a much wider range of gamers. As a result, numerous licenses are now directly or indirectly linked to Microsoft (Indiana Jones
This rumor is based mainly on two different pieces of information. The first (and least reliable) comes to us from the website TFW2005a website that specializes in Transformers news. They actually posted a short message there pointing out Microsoft is reportedly currently working on two different Transformers video games:
We have received information that Microsoft Studios is working on not one but two video game projects codenamed Transformers.
We don’t have any official confirmation yet, but both projects are apparently aiming for a release this year.
We must not forget that Activision Blizzard is now owned by Microsoft Studios, a development company that released numerous Transformers-related video games such as Transformers: War for Cybertron and Transformers: The Fall of Cybertron before its acquisition by the tech giant.
Fan interest in these games has increased significantly recently.
We will keep you updated as soon as we have further information.
It is difficult to know where their information comes from and whether it is reliable, but another detail seems to point in that direction. In fact, Xbox and Activision have submitted two Transformers video games to the government organization Australian Classification Board, the equivalent of PEGI in Australia.
A universe that is under-exploited in video games
If there have been many Transformers toys and this license has been making great strides in cinema for some time, we can’t really say that it shines in the world of video games. Certainly there have been several Transformers games since the license’s existence, but few have really stood the test of time, with the exception of perhaps Transformers: War for Cybertron and its continuation Transformers: Cybertron Chute.
When we search social networks for this rumor about the return of the license to Xbox, very often it is these two games that most often come to the lips (or fingers) of Internet users. Many would like to see a high-quality remake of these two titles to return on a nostalgic journey
