Microsoft will also be focusing more and more on cloud gaming in the future and has now officially expanded the corresponding feature to the Xbox consoles.
Xbox Cloud Gaming started out on mobile platforms and made it possible to stream Xbox games on the go. Most recently, Microsoft then carried out a test phase of the feature on the Xbox consoles – and now the official go-ahead is here.
Via Xbox Wire the company announced that Xbox Cloud Gaming is now also available on Xbox Series X / S and Xbox One. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can now make use of this and play the games included in the Game Pass via streaming on the console, provided they also support the feature. This also has a positive side effect: Previously platform-exclusive titles such as The Medium or The Riftbreaker can now also be played on the Xbox One for the first time.
At launch, the feature is available in 25 regions; this also includes Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Brazil is to follow next, further regions will be added gradually “in the coming weeks”.
If your internet connection is sufficient for game streaming, you can use it to save hard drive space on your Xbox console in the future. The games played in this way no longer have to be installed there.
More supported games will be added to the Xbox Cloud Gaming feature each month, so that supplies are always on the way. For example, Microsoft Flight Simulator will be available “early 2022” in this context.
You can access Xbox Cloud Gaming via the Xbox Game Pass app on your console.
