ASUS has created an improved interface for making its family ROG gamebooks, depending on the processor used, able lower its temperature between 10 and 20ºCThis is especially important with the latest generation processor where temperatures are more important with the Intel Thermal Velocity Boost technology. Also, at low temperatures a laptop fan works slowly, to improve the noise level of equipment.
The secret is to use a liquid metal such as TIM
Agents and overulsers have long used it liquid metal instead of thermal paste of your equipment, but it is usually necessary to use it manually to make it work, so it is not possible to use it for mass production… until now. ASUS announced that after a year of development, they were able to create a process and device that could use liquid metal in their notebooks, and on a larger scale.
Liquid metals have very low melting point, making them free from room temperatures. These alloys are which is very sensitive to heat, to make them more efficient at transferring warm energy between the processor face and the heatsink. The benefits are more than obvious, and ASUS testing reinforced its appeal because, as we showed earlier, they were able to lower their CPU laptops' temperature to 20ºC.
The TIM used by ASUS is the well-known Thermal Grizzly Condeuctonaut, widely used among overulsers and lovers because it has low tin infinication, which is not as good as gallium or indium which is part of the allergy.
Surprisingly, ASUS, instead of working in partnership with Thermal Grizzly, purchased a large number of items and kept the project secret for a year to make a patented machine, which means we will only see metal writing books in the ASUS ROG family of products.
How has ASUS done this?
The first step is actually to "paint" the processor's death with liquid metal: a mechanical arm with a "brush" type begins by spreading the liquid metal on the face of the deceased. According to ASUS, this "brushing" gives 17 lashes directly to form a TIM stainless steel, without bubble.
But this first step does not apply enough TIM to work very well in the heat, so after that the other arm doubles the liquid metal which, when it comes in contact with the first layer deposited, spreads evenly.
According to ASUS, after a year of testing, they have decided that this is the best way to achieve the thermal performance they have been looking for and that, in fact, it can eliminate the problem that all gaming laptops have, which is nothing but high temperatures.
