Hit board game GloomhavenThe digital edition receives a major update today. Chapter 4 adds two new biomes as well as new story missions and enemies to the Early Access game. It is accompanied by a new trailer that you can watch on Youtube
Designed by Isaac Childres, Gloomhaven is a card-controlled dungeon crawler that supports solo games as well as groups of up to five players. It doesn’t require a game master, which makes it a great candidate for a video game customization. Unfortunately, the game launched early on Steam in 2019 without the kind of content that made it unique – including an open world with branching narrative content. Since that time, the Flaming Fowl Studios team has worked to expand and improve the game.
According to a press release, the Chapter 4 update includes new sewers and rural village biomes, as well as seven new story missions. New enemies are the Black Imp, Deep Terror, Ooze and Lurker. Dedicated gamers will also be pleased to know that the update includes two new mercenaries, code-named “Eclipse” and “Phoenix” to avoid spoilers. There’s also a new boss hanging out at the bottom of the ocean. The update is completely free for those who own the game.
