The first big change would have been structural: while most episodes revolved around a cast member telling a spooky story based on a Christopher Pike novel, the protagonist Ilonka (Iman Benson) would have a version of it for the first five episodes told Remember me
A recurring thread in Flanagan’s draft for the season is that almost every frightening image or motif introduced in season one has a bittersweet and heartfelt story behind it. It fits a show about terminal teenagers living together and confronting their fate through scary stories. in the The Midnight Club
