Starfield, Bethesda’s large open-world space RPG released last year, is expected to receive a major new update later this month. One of the big features being added is 3D interfaces and city maps, which the game has required since its release. But these new cards reveal that too Starfields The largest cities are actually quite small.
On the 1st of May Bethesda has released the patch notes for its next big game Starfield To update. And while this new patch isn’t quite available yet, players who own the game on Steam can sign up for an early, Beta version of it
Let’s take a look Akilia city First, a frontier town on a desolate planet.
I wasn’t expecting this city to be huge, but it looks so tiny on the new 3D map in a post on Reddit. As I walked around it I often got lost and that helped make it feel bigger, but if you zoom out the camera you can see that it’s actually quite small and compressed.
The next city I want to show is New Atlantis, This is one of the first major cities you’re likely to visit, and the de facto capital of the vast, galaxy-spanning United Colonies.
Still, New Atlantis is more like a large shopping center with a medium-sized parking lot. When I played Starfield
Perhaps the saddest and smallest city I’ve seen on the new 3D map screen is the city of Neon, a run-down city built on platforms over an alien ocean.
While playing Starfield, Neon felt more like a few buildings connected to a major road than a real city. But I didn’t expect Neon to look so tiny in the new 3D surface maps. So tiny. So sweet.
Of course, these exterior views of the major cities in the game don’t tell the whole story. If you go inside buildings or underground, you will find areas not visible in these top views.
These locations have also received new 3D maps, but these are not as nice and look more like an early model of a video game map that will be completed later. Maybe that will happen in the next big year Starfield Update in a few months?
