It’s been a long journey, but we’re excited to finally present a critically acclaimed online role-playing game Final Fantasy XIV Online is officially available for Xbox Series X|S!
Today’s open beta launch offers Xbox gamers the full range of content available in the acclaimed free trial, with more to come when the full release arrives. Better yet, all progress will be carried over. So let’s take a look at what’s on offer and give you some tips and tricks to get you started on your adventures in Eorzea!
what is Final Fantasy XIV Online?
Despite the title, this is an important point Final Fantasy XIV Online is a standalone game that requires no prior knowledge of the franchise, making it the perfect place to start. Expect a world of bustling cities, vast forests and deadly deserts, where a constantly updated and ever-exciting world will take you to the far corners of the land – and beyond – with a captivating and ongoing story.
If multiplayer games feel a bit overwhelming, FFXIV includes a feature called the Duty Support System, which allows content to be tackled with a group of NPC allies rather than other players. This now includes all of the main story dungeons in the game, allowing you to experience the award-winning narrative all on your own.
What’s available now… and what’s next?
Today’s open beta launch brings all content available in the free trial to Xbox Series X|S. This means you can enjoy the entire A Realm Reborn game, as well as the award-winning Heavensward and Stormblood expansions up to level 70, with no limits on play time!
All progress made will carry over to the full release when it arrives, giving you plenty of time to get up to speed before our latest expansion, Dawntrail, arrives in the summer… but more on that another time!

With a world as big as FFXIVIt can be a bit overwhelming to know where to start. Luckily, our starter guide series is here to help you. The seven-part video series provides initial tips and tricks for new players to help them get the most out of their adventures in Eorzea. The series follows the journey of new player Kaz and his mentor Mayra, who accompanies him on his first steps FFXIV
Each episode is designed to help you begin your journey, whether you play alone at your own pace or team up with others to explore the world together. If you are a more experienced Warrior of Light, feel free to share this series with friends who are just taking the first steps of their adventure!
