Riot Games is gearing up for the Wild Rift EMEA Championship taking place in Barcelona May 5-8. Seven teams will compete in the Wild Rift Wild Rift for a share of the $200,000 prize pool.
- The top six teams from Europe, the Middle East and Africa compete for their share of the $200,000 prize pool.
- Winners will represent EMEA at the Wild Rift Icons World Championship event.
- The first match kicks off on Thursday, May 5 at 2:00 p.m. PT, while the Grand Finals will take place on Sunday, May 8 at 6:00 p.m. PT.

What is the Wild Rift EMEA Championship (WREC)?
The WREC is the pinnacle of the competitive Wild Rift scene in EMEA, featuring top teams from Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Whether you follow esports and are looking for fast-paced, action-packed matches, or you’ve just arrived and want to recreate some amazing in-match gameplay, Wild Rift esports has something for everyone.
In May 2022, the first season of EMEA competition will come to an end and the champion will be crowned on Sunday May 8th.
Which teams are participating?
Six teams will make it to the Grand Final, five of which have already qualified:
- Game-Lord (EU WREC Champion): the Belgian team in which the participation of the Spaniard Abraham stood out »RuizRuiz (2000) as mid laner.
- NASR Esports (TR WREC Champion).
- Rix.GG (USA WREC Last Chance Tournament)).
- Team Queso (EU WREC Last Chance Tournament): the Spanish team founded by businessman and Youtuber Alvaro González de Buitrago (Álvaro845).
- Parla Esports (TR WREC Last Chance Tournament).
The last team in the tournament will be one of the following, which will meet during the opening phase to determine which of the two will be the sixth and last participant.

Game-Lord and NASR Esports, winners of the European and Turkish tournaments respectively, are the tournament favorites. However, Parla Esports and Rix.gg were runners-up in those competitions (and Rix.GG beat Game-Lord in the first final), so sparks are sure to fly when those teams meet. From the opening, Formulation Gaming and Unicorns of Love will be the contenders, but be careful not to underestimate them!

Matches will be played May 5-8, Thursday through Sunday. The tournament will kick off with the opening match between Unicorns of Love and Formulation Gaming, before moving on to group stage matches later in the day.
