Concord: New multiplayer shooter from Sony also appears directly for PC
With Concord, Sony and Firewalk Studios are launching a new multiplayer shooter that is currently causing quite a stir in the beta phase – even though the first trailer (see above) was a disaster for many players.
However, the mix of familiar elements from games like Overwatch, Destiny 2 and Valorant as well as our own fresh ideas is now surprisingly well received by players.
First mocked …
Let’s take a quick look back: At the beginning of June, Concord was presented to the public for the first time – and the gameplay trailer was immediately torn to pieces. YouTube
The pitch was: Do you want to close some studios?

… now celebrated
Behind Concord is Firewalk Studios, a team of industry veterans founded in 2018 who have already worked on titles such as Destiny and Halo.
This experience now seems to be reflected in the quality of the game.
Although Concord borrows heavily from genre greats like Overwatch and Valorant in its gameplay mechanics, the game manages to stand out with unique features. Players praise the vibrant, crisp graphics and fluid gunplay that’s reminiscent of Destiny’s PvP mode, but with its own twist.
We’ve collected some opinions for you that show that the beta is apparently worth a try:

Concord is a big surprise so far! The characters are varied and really fun to play. Combat feels fast and dynamic, definitely worth checking out.
A smart move by Sony was to give all PlayStation Plus subscribers access to the Early Access Beta regardless of pre-order. This allowed a wide range of players to try out Concord and certainly contributes to the growing excitement.
If you want to give the shooter a chance yourself: The open beta will take place on Steam from July 18 to 21, 2024, and anyone can participate for free. Three game modes, four maps, and all 16 characters await you. You can also earn small cosmetic rewards for the full release on August 23, 2024.
