temporyal found so much that it was enough for an extensive infographic. Not only does it look like an unofficial advertising poster for the shooter, but it also makes you want to go into portal mode when all of the options presented actually find their way into the final version.
Battlefield Portal should offer you these options
- Crossplay: You should be able to switch the cross-platform interaction either on or off.
- Tagging allies: If you like it particularly nerve-wracking, you can switch off the visual highlighting of allied players, so that you have to take a closer look in the heat of the moment.
- Tactical sprint: You can deactivate the additional speed boost.
- Friendly Fire: No surprise, this safety function can also be switched off.
- Spawn-Verhalten in Squads: It can be determined whether or not players can spawn directly with squad members.
- Health regeneration: Slow healing over time is also optional.
- Extreme weather effects: The extreme weather effects known from Hazard Zone can be added on request.
- SKIN: If you like, you can hide the heads-up display for all players.
- Minimap and full map: Both map variants can be hidden permanently.
- Resurrecting Squad Members: Especially nasty, because this option means that fallen players in your own squad can no longer be brought back to life.
- Infinite ammunition: Yes, this option promises a lot of action!
- Infinite magazines: Here players also have unlimited ammunition, but have to stop briefly to reload if the magazine is empty.
- Auto-Reload: If you want to save time, you can automate the reload command.
- Early reloading: If this option is deactivated, players must empty the entire magazine before they can reload.
- Ducks: Those who value posture can prohibit their fellow players from crouching.
- Limited aiming: Players can no longer point their weapon downwards.
- Ping behavior: The ping command can be adjusted in three stages.
- Global damage multiplier: Multiplies all damage taken – values below 1.0 reduce damage, values above increase it. So you can create deadly one-shot duels or lengthy hit orgies.
- Target support: The crosshairs can be in either of the two variants
Magnetism
andSnap-to-Target
automatically target opponents.
That may all sound well and good, but in the opinion of our Battlefield Commander Phil, the Battlefield Portal not only harbors opportunities, but also some risks:

Class specializations are making their comeback
Apart from these numerous options, the Dataminer wants to have gained another insight from the game files: The class specializations known from its predecessors should also be available in the Battlefield Portal. For the BF1942 faction, there may even be new traits to better align them with their counterparts from Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3.

Incidentally, it is still unclear whether there will be stationary guns on the maps in Battlefield 2042. Temporyal couldn’t find anything about it in the game files either. But since Battlefield Portal contains some classic maps on which guns like Flak-38, C-RAM or Kornet exist, the possibility remains.
Now it is up to the release on November 19th to prepare optimally for the coming battles. After all, Battlefield 2042 is breaking class tradition, and many veterans will have to tweak their playstyle. Among other things, our new guide to all specialists and their skills will help you.
What is your opinion on the portal mode? Would you be happy about so many options for your own matches, or would you rather stick to the standard games? Let us know in the comments!
