The long-awaited shooter sequel STALKER 2 should actually cause a sensation this spring. But if you believe rumors, then nothing will come of it.
Update:
The rumor has now actually been confirmed. A few minutes ago, the developers announced the postponement on the official Twitter account. The new release date is now December 8th, 2022. The reason given is that more time is needed for testing and polishing in order to achieve the desired quality of the game.
Original message January 12, 2022 – 8:43 a.m.
A source from the Ukraine, who previously leaked accurate information about STALKER 2 – Heart of Chernobyl, now claims that the release date for the shooter sequel will unfortunately be delayed by at least six months. The wait for fans of the franchise is likely to continue after nearly 13 years since Call of Pripyat was released.
The Ukrainian YouTuber Oldboi is apparently well connected at GSC Game World and claims, citing his own sources, that the publication has already been postponed to autumn 2022. The developers will therefore officially communicate this fact at the next presentation of the shooter.
But there are also positive side notes: The game, which was initially based on Unreal Engine 4, has now been moved to Unreal Engine 5 to enable a real next-gen experience. The game has been confirmed for PC and Xbox Series X / S so far. PS5 players can also raise their hopes: A PS5 variant is said to be in the works and will be released either at the end of 2022 or at the beginning of 2023 – then also with DualSense support for some gameplay mechanics.
An official confirmation of the postponement as well as the PS5 version is still pending. The STALKER 2, which was once planned for 2012, is currently announced for PC and Xbox Series X / S for April 28, 2022. We’ll keep you up to date!
