Watch_Dogs is also set to make the leap to the big screen and TV sets. Shooting for the film has now started!
There may be little going on at the moment when it comes to a new video game based on the Watch_Dogs action franch ise, but things are not completely quiet around the Ubisoft brand. It is known that it is also set to make a splash on the big screen or in the form of a film – and the next step has now been taken on the way there.
According to this, filming for the film adaptation has now officially started. Ubisoft itself made a corresponding announcement via social media on X – garnished with a clapperboard and the text “Lights_Camera_Action.exe” as well as the hashtag #WatchDogsMovie.
Unfortunately, apart from confirmation of the start of filming, there is no further information about the film. So far it has been known that Tom Blyth and Sophie Wilde will play leading roles in the film. Ubisoft’s Head of Content Margaret Boykin, Yariv Milchan as CEO of New Regency and Natalie Lehman will act as producers. The Watch_Dogs film adaptation does not yet have a release date.
How the game series itself will continue remains to be seen. There is currently no news of a new installment in the works. The first two games in particular received good reviews and were also a commercial success, with over 20 million copies sold. The most recent release was Watch_Dogs: Legion in 2020, which received rather mixed reviews.
