Summerfall Studios, developers of the upcoming self-described “RPG musical” Stray godshas recently taken to Twitter to share some unfortunate news for those who want to free themselves from a fantasy dilemma with singing. Stray godsin which you slip into the role of a woman who has to prove her innocence to the Greek gods through the magic of singing is being postponed by one week to August 10th.
But even though the messages were delivered in the standard picture-in-a-letter format we all know and love, the content didn’t match the typical statement that you need a little more time to make sure the game is running optimally. No, that was very direct: the studio wants to avoid competition Baldur’s Gate 3 The release is scheduled for August 3rd, the original release date of Stray gods. And yes, there are also some technical goals the team hopes to achieve by pushing back the release date a bit.
“We have to do one light Adjusting the calendar,” reads the statement at the beginning, ahead of announcing the new August 10 release date. It goes on to say:
We want everyone to have ample space to check out Stray gods when it starts. Baldur’s Gate 3 is eagerly awaited (by us too!) and we want to give our fans room to celebrate Stray gods.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Is It is expected to be a massive RPG experience, so something tells me that even just seven days after the August 3rd release, people will still be very deeply into it, but it makes sense that a smaller title might have to wait a while before hitting stores. Or as a person post it on twittermaybe Summerfall Games doesn’t want to get all the attention.
The delay also gives the studio some time to work on “performance parity” between consoles and PC so it “runs as close as possible on each platform”.
Stray gods Coming to PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch on August 10th.
